We are thrilled to share that Minviro is among the new Associate Members welcomed into the International Lithium Association (ILiA). As a specialist in conducting life cycle assessments across the lithium and battery material value chain, this membership aligns seamlessly with our mission to promote environmental sustainability in the mining and raw materials sector.
The ILiA serves as a not-for-profit trade body that represents the global voice of the lithium industry. Created by leading lithium producers, the association is set to support the sector amid an era of unparalleled market expansion. With projections indicating a nearly six-fold increase in lithium demand by 2040, primarily due to the surge in electric vehicle production, the lithium industry's leading players felt the pressing need for an association to aptly address shared challenges. Among these is the crucial initiative of advancing a sustainable lithium value chain as the world transitions further into the lithium century.
Pioneering the establishment of ILiA are its five foundational Core Members: SQM, Ganfeng Lithium, AMG Brazil, Orocobre, and Pilbara Minerals. Minviro is honored to be recognized among the 12 founding Associate Members, which also include esteemed entities such as Rio Tinto, BASF, SVOLT, and Hatch Ltd, among others.
The Association, headquartered in London, UK, aims to be an inclusive platform, inviting participation across the entire lithium supply chain, from the core producers and processors to OEMs and recyclers.
Mr. Anand Sheth, the Founding Chairman of ILiA, expressed his welcoming sentiments stating, “On behalf of the Founding Members, we welcome the new Associate Members in building and strengthening the Association and to collectively become ‘the voice of the lithium industry."
We, at Minviro, are eager to collaborate with industry peers, contribute our expertise, and work towards the shared objective of sustainability and innovation within the lithium industry. Joining ILiA is a significant step in this journey, and we're enthusiastic about the exciting opportunities and collaborations that lie ahead.
