## The EIT RawMaterials Booster

Minviro has been awarded the EIT RawMaterials Booster

(https://eitrawmaterials.eu/booster-call/)grant, after a successful application and pitch to an expert jury. The RM Booster will accelerate the development of a software tool that will transform environmental sustainability in the mining industry. The technology supports integrating life cycle assessment (LCA) into the different development stages of mining and metal projects.

In addition to the financial boost, the successful application also means that Minviro is now part of the

EIT RawMaterials partner network

. This network includes a number of established and innovative organisations in the raw materials space and is a great environment to test and validate Minviro’s solutions.

Robert Pell, Minviro’s founder and CEO, said “It is great to be part of this community and I am excited to drive sustainable innovation in the raw material sector. There is significant demand increase forecast for a number of technology metals, by applying LCA approaches and Minviro’s technology, we can support in providing Europe with the raw materials needed at minimum environmental cost.”

Nicolas Menou, Business Developer EIT Raw Materials, Innovation Hub (CLC) West said “ ‘MineLCA’ , the newly developed solution by Minviro brings key insights to Mining companies, engineering firms and investors to quantify the environmental footprint of their resource projects. EIT RawMaterials shares with Minviro the objective to bring sustainable innovations to the raw materials sector, and is happy to support Minviro within the Booster program.”

## About EIT RawMaterials

EIT RawMaterials, initiated and funded by the EIT (

European Institute of Innovation and Technology (https://eit.europa.eu/)

), a body of the European Union, is the largest innovation community in the raw materials sector worldwide. Its vision is to develop raw materials into a major strength for Europe. Its mission is to enable sustainable competitiveness of the European minerals, metals and materials sector along the value chain by driving innovation, education and entrepreneurship.Partners of EIT RawMaterials are active across the entire raw materials value chain; from exploration, mining and mineral processing to substitution, recycling and circular economy. They collaborate on finding new, innovative solutions to secure the raw materials supply and strengthen the entire raw materials sector in Europe.
